2. Embedded Observation

In the Embedded Observation stage, our focus shifts to identifying the value stream within your organisation, akin to the second part of a Gemba walk. By closely observing your operations in action, we pinpoint where value is created, wasted, or could be enhanced. This hands-on observation allows us to understand the flow of work directly and gather essential data for process visualisation and optimisation.

Team Dynamics Capture: Understanding team dynamics, roles, and responsibilities within your organisation.

Visible Process Cataloguing: An initial catalogue of all processes as understood through observation - captured and not captured by documentation

Invisible Process Cataloguing: An initial catalogue of all processes including informal processes not captured in existing documentation.

Communication Flow Analysis: A breakdown of how information is shared between teams and departments, identifying both formal and informal communication channels.

Key Process Understanding: Onboarding, offboarding, quality assurance, customer relationship management - are some examples of common processes.
